Spain: Ferran Torres, Donald Trump responds

Last Monday, the striker in the final of the 2026 World Cup was seen wearing a "Make Spain Great Again" cap during the celebrations following Spain’s triumph at the World Cup (1-0 after extra time against Argentina).

The hero of La Roja in the final, Ferran Torres, certainly stirred up reactions. In Spain, his gesture sparked debate. However, Donald Trump didn’t see any mockery in it. The American president even described it as a fine tribute to the MAGA movement.

"He’s a great player. He was wearing a 'Make America Great Again' cap. It was a wonderful tribute, and I think he did it with the best intentions. We appreciate it," said the President of the United States about Ferran Torres.
