Transfer market: Akar Gdynia targets Nampalys Mendy
Nampalys Mendy

The young Senegalese international Nampalys Mendy has caught the eye of Polish club Akar Gdynia.

After joining Watford last summer, Nampalys Mendy was hoping to find a project that matched his ambitions. However, halfway through the season, it's clear that the former Lens midfielder hasn't seen much playing time. The Senegal international has featured in only eight matches across all competitions, totaling just 415 minutes on the pitch. With his contract set to expire in June, Mendy is now exploring his options.

According to Foot Mercato, Akar Gdynia, currently 12th in the Polish top flight, has reached out to Mendy and even tabled an 18-month contract offer. The club is eager to make him one of the cornerstones of their squad and is ready to offer him the highest salary on the team.
