According to the Egyptian Football Association, midfielder Emam Ashour finished as the 28th best overall performer at the World Cup 2026 out of a massive field of 1,248 participating players.

Ashour delivered a memorable campaign, scoring a long range screamer in a 1-1 draw against Belgium before heading home a crucial equalizer against Australia. Close behind him was versatile forward Mostafa Zico who ranked 30th globally after finding the back of the net against both New Zealand & Argentina.

Salah & Ibrahim feature among Football's elite

Team captain Mohamed Salah secured 49th place in the individual rankings following his strike against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, defender Yasser Ibrahim placed 57th overall, boosted by his powerful header past Emiliano Martínez in the Round of 16. These individual accolades highlight a groundbreaking tournament for the Pharaohs who earned their first-ever World Cup victory against New Zealand, advanced past Australia on penalties in the Round of 32 and narrowly exited after a dramatic 3-2 battle against Argentina.
