The FBI has launched a preliminary investigation into the Argentine Football Association (AFA). U.S. authorities are seeking to understand the origin and destination of several financial transfers that passed through the United States.

According to information from CBS Sports, more than $300 million are involved. Out of this amount, $260 million reportedly moved through the U.S. banking system, while $57 million have no clearly identified destination. Investigators are particularly interested in the relationship between the AFA and TourProdEnter, a Miami-based company that managed sponsorship contracts and organized certain events for the Argentine national team.

So far, no one has been charged and no evidence of fraud has been made public. The FBI is simply continuing its checks to determine whether these financial operations were legal. For now, this investigation has no impact on the Argentine national team, which is set to play England in the 2026 World Cup final.
