The last quarter-final of the World Cup sees Argentina take on Switzerland in the early hours of Monday, kicking off at 1am GMT. The Argentinians have previously reached this stage eight times.

La Albiceleste have played in eight World Cup quarter-finals, with a record of four wins and four defeats. Every time Argentina has advanced from this round, they've made it all the way to the final.

Argentina knocked out the Netherlands on penalties (2-2, 4-3 on pens) at Lusail Stadium in the last edition, four years ago in Qatar. That win was the key to the title, which they sealed against France in the final.

The most painful memory remains the heavy defeat to Germany (0-4) at this stage at the Green Point Stadium in South Africa.

Lionel Messi and his teammates will be relying on Argentina's vast experience at this stage to secure a seventh semi-final berth.
