Atlético Madrid once again proves to be the ultimate supplier for World Cup finalists. For the third consecutive edition, the Colchoneros are the most represented club in the final of the competition.

Nine Atlético Madrid players will be on the pitch for the 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, set for Sunday, July 19 at MetLife Stadium.

Indeed, Spaniards Marcos Llorente, Marc Pubill, Alex Baena, and Alejandro Grimaldo will face off against Argentinians Juan Musso, Giuliano Simeone, Nahuel Molina, Julián Álvarez, and Thiago Almada.

Back in 2018, there were four: Croatian Šime Vrsaljko and the Frenchmen Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez, and Thomas Lemar.

It was the same number of players from the Spanish capital’s club in 2022, with Frenchman Antoine Griezmann once again facing Argentinians Rodrigo De Paul, Nahuel Molina, and Ángel Correa.

A tenth Madrileño will surely be present at MetLife Stadium. We're talking about Diego Simeone, the Colchoneros’ coach, who has attended every match for his country, donning the Albiceleste jersey and celebrating every goal like a madman from the stands.
