Appointed to replace Walid Regragui, Mohamed Ouahbi was well aware of the heavy legacy left by his predecessor. But that didn't stop him from displaying some truly promising signs of satisfaction right from the start of his new adventure.

The Atlas Lions continue their forward march at the World Cup. After holding Brazil to a 1-1 draw and defeating Scotland 1-0 and Haiti 4-2, Achraf Hakimi and his teammates added another big name to their list: the Netherlands. They clinched a spot in the round of 16 by beating the Dutch on penalties, 1-1 (4-3 on penalties).

In fact, the 49-year-old manager hasn't lost a single match since taking charge last March. He is now the first Atlas Lions head coach to remain unbeaten in his first nine matches since Hervé Renard in 2016.

He's even outperformed Walid Regragui, the architect of Morocco's historic 2022 World Cup run. In Qatar, the Atlas Lions reached the semi-finals, knocking out several giants, including Belgium, Portugal, and Spain.
