Vinícius Júnior is lighting up the 2026 World Cup, delivering a tournament performance that has already secured his place in Brazil’s record books.

The Real Madrid winger has registered eight goal contributions in seven World Cup appearances — five goals and three assists — and showcased his attacking prowess once again in the final group match against Scotland, scoring twice in the first half alone.

Earlier in the tournament, Vinícius found the net against Morocco in a 1‑1 draw and contributed a goal and an assist in the 3‑0 victory over Haiti.

His consistency across the group stage has placed him in elite company. Vinícius has become the first Brazilian player in 24 years to score in every group match of a World Cup, following the footsteps of Ronaldo and Rivaldo in 2002. Before them, Jairzinho achieved the feat in 1970, and Romário in 1994.

With the knockout stages ahead, Vinícius will be crucial to Brazil’s hopes of adding a sixth star to their shirt. His form suggests he is ready to carry that weight.
