An attacking festival by the Teranga Lions in Toronto! Senegal crushes Iraq 5-0 in the third round of Group I of the World Cup. Pape Thiaw and his squad roar back into contention for a spot in the round of 16.

Senegalese pride took center stage. From the fourth minute, Habib Diarra broke the deadlock. Off a corner delivered by Lamine Camara, he struck home after a decisive assist from Abdoulaye Seck.

Iraq was down to ten men from the 13th minute after Anthony Taylor showed a red card to Rebin Sulaka for a foul on Sadio Mane. Iraq never recovered after that blow.

Ismaila Sarr, who had already scored twice against Norway, tormented Iraq's defense in the 56th minute. Pape Gueye, just off the bench, netted the third in the 56th minute with an assist from Sarr.

The fiery Villarreal striker kept shining in the 71st minute with an assist from Iliman Ndiaye. Then Ndiaye, also coming off the bench, struck the fifth with a pass from Pape Gueye in the 82nd minute.

Senegal finishes the round third in Group I with 3 points and a +2 goal difference. In the other match, France swept Norway 4-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Ousmane Dembele.

The Teranga Lions have boosted their goal difference and now stand as strong contenders to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams.
