Hampered by an injury at the start of the 2026 World Cup, Lamine Yamal remains confident and promises to raise his level ahead of the quarter-final clash with Belgium.

Still recovering from a left thigh injury picked up with FC Barcelona, Lamine Yamal has yet to show his best form since returning to action. Starting in Spain's recent outings, the 18-year-old winger has posted modest stats so far, with just one goal to his name in this World Cup campaign.

A surge in form on the horizon

Despite the criticism, the young attacker remains composed. He openly admits to being a perfectionist, never fully satisfied with his performances, no matter the circumstances. He attributes his lack of rhythm mainly to the enforced absence in the weeks leading up to the tournament.

Nevertheless, Lamine Yamal is already looking ahead to the quarter-final showdown with Belgium. He insists he’s ramping up in intensity as the tournament progresses and says he’s determined to showcase the full extent of his talent on American soil, having yet to shine during the group stage.
