Extremely bad news for Switzerland fans. The star of this 2026 World Cup, Johan Manzambi, could miss the Round of 16 showdown with Colombia on Tuesday night at 20:00 GMT.

According to Blick Sport, the midfielder from Fribourg picked up a knee injury during Monday's training session. The Geneva-born 20-year-old underwent an MRI scan on Tuesday morning, and the results were not encouraging. Although the injury is not considered serious, his participation against Colombia in the Round of 16—and even if Switzerland progresses further—remains highly doubtful.

In his 16 international appearances, Manzambi has already netted 6 goals. At this World Cup, he’s been a sensation, scoring three times and providing two assists. This is a huge blow for coach Murat Yakin, who is losing one of his most in-form players at a crucial moment.
