Young Moroccan star Yassir Zoubiri stole the spotlight with his Spanish club, Racing Santander, after scoring two goals against Deportivo Alavés and being named Man of the Match.

A brilliant performance by the 21-year-old Moroccan star

Racing Santander found themselves a goal down at the El Sardinero stadium after conceding in the 18th minute against Deportivo Alaves, but Yassir Zabiri had other ideas. The Moroccan international pulled his side level in the 38th minute, sending the teams into the break locked at 1–1.

Whatever was said at half-time, Zabiri came out firing. The Moroccan international struck again in the 53rd minute, firing Racing Santander into a 2–1 lead.

Those two goals proved decisive, handing Racing Santander all three points against Deportivo Alaves at the El Sardinero stadium on 12 September, on matchday 5 of the Spanish La Liga. With that brace, Yassir Zabiri has now taken his La Liga tally for Racing Santander to five goals.

The Moroccan now sits as the league's second-highest goalscorer, level with Sergio Camello and trailing only Raphinha.
