In recent weeks, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has launched his media campaign to defend his candidacy in the race for the 2026 Ballon d'Or with strong words. Having since been criticised by several observers for his comments, the France international has responded to his detractors.

"I think I have already said everything there is to say on the subject. People don't like it when I talk about it too much, but that's the way it is, that's the way it is. It doesn't bother me, it doesn't bother me at all. I did everything I could and I think I did well. And now, all that's left is to wait", the former Paris Saint-Germain player told the daily AS on Monday.
