2026 World Cup - Argentina: "Algeria is tough," says Nicolas Tagliafico

Argentine international Nicolas Tagliafico shared his thoughts on the 2026 World Cup draw. According to him, Algeria is a formidable opponent for Argentina.

Next summer, Argentina will defend their crown at the 2026 World Cup. Lionel Messi and his teammates haven't been handed the easiest draw, as they'll face Austria, Algeria, and Jordan in the group stage. During his Twitch live stream, Nicolas Tagliafico reacted enthusiastically to the draw.

"It's not the group of death; honestly, we can win all three matches," began the Lyon left-back. "The group isn’t bad, but Algeria is a tough side. Algeria has good players, and it’s going to be challenging. I have two Algerian teammates at OL (only Ghezzal in 25/26, editor’s note), but I’m not sure if they’re on the national team. (...) Austria and Algeria, yes, they’re tough. They respect us a lot. But you have to watch out—there are surprises at every World Cup. We’ll see how it all plays out.", said Nicolas Tagliafico.
