The Leopards had stunned the Three Lions as early as the 7th minute through Brian Cipenga, and held firm for a long stretch with a remarkable defensive block and an imperious Lionel Mpasi in goal. For over an hour, Thomas Tuchel’s men ran into a heroic Congolese defense.

The turning point, however, came from the England bench. Introduced in the 60th minute, Anthony Gordon immediately injected pace and directness. It was his pinpoint cross that found Harry Kane, who finally broke the deadlock with a clinical finish to bring the teams back level (1-1).

With a quarter of an hour to go, everything is still up for grabs in this thrilling duel between the Three Lions and the Leopards.
