In their first match of the 2026 World Cup, Egypt will face off against Belgium on Monday, June 15.

The Pharaohs are making their fourth appearance on the world stage, following previous participations in the 1934, 1990, and 2018 editions.

The seven-time African champions have recorded one draw and two defeats in their previous opening fixtures at the tournament.

In 1934, they were defeated by Hungary (2-4), before holding the Netherlands to a goalless draw in the 1990 World Cup.

In the 2018 edition, they suffered a narrow loss to Uruguay, conceding a late goal by José María Giménez.

Alongside the Red Devils, Egypt will also take on New Zealand and Iran in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
