Following Spain's victory over Argentina (1-0, a.e.t.) this Sunday, in the 2026 World Cup final, La Roja's manager Luis de la Fuente reflected on the journey of this generation.

The process involves him and many players he has coached at U19 and youth levels.

"These are players with exceptional talent. There’s so much pride in having taken this journey with them—it’s been an honor. I’m extremely moved. It’s wonderful, a generation of players who are an example for Spanish sport, for young people, for all of Spain. Together, we are stronger. We should have scored earlier, but it’s a World Cup final, with Messi—suffering is part of the game," explained the Spanish coach to broadcasters.
