2026 World Cup - Morocco: Bilal El Khannouss sends a warning
On Wednesday, Morocco wrapped up their group stage in this 2026 World Cup with another victory, this time against Haiti (4-2). But Bilal El Khannouss isn’t completely satisfied.
The Moroccans gave themselves a scare, twice falling behind to a fearless Haitian side. The Atlas Lions’ approach at the start of the match didn’t convince Bilal El Khannouss, as he explained on BeIN Sports.
"We lacked humility at times, I think. We paid the price for it. We weren’t going into challenges 100%, we weren’t playing every ball at full intensity, and we gave them confidence. That’s how they scored two goals. The coach told us to step up in the duels, to win more balls. That’s what we did in the second half, and the win was deserved. We have a playing system, and the squad believes in it. We put our qualities at the service of the team, and it paid off despite the goals we conceded. The first part of the competition is over. We’re about to start the next phase, and now it’s simple: you win and you move on, or you lose and you go home. The whole team knows it." he said.
