Against Haiti last night, Brahim Diaz didn’t seem to be at his best. The Moroccan coach came to his defense.

After providing key assists against Brazil and Scotland, Brahim Diaz appeared uninspired and, at times, even disengaged against Haiti. Asked about this in the post-match press conference, Mohamed Ouahbi was quick to defend his star player.

"Brahim is a player who was the top scorer at the AFCON, the best player. He plays for Real Madrid. He’s a truly, truly great player. He’s going to bring us a lot. We expect more from him because he’s one of our best. He’s already provided two assists in the first two matches. So, God willing, with confidence—and that’s what we’re going to give him. But I’m not going to scold anyone, because I felt my team was fully committed. We’ll give him the support he needs to perform in the next match. Let him help us qualify." Ouahbi stated.
