Frenkie de Jong is not easing concerns for the Netherlands in this 2026 World Cup.

Uncertain before the match against Sweden (5-1) on Saturday, Frenkie de Jong still played the first hour of the game. The Barcelona midfielder gritted his teeth and is now waiting to see if the discomfort in his abdomen will allow him to continue throughout the rest of the 2026 World Cup.

"I'm still in pain, that's for sure, but it was bearable today," commented the Barcelona player after the match. "We'll see how my body reacts, but I'm confident.", Frenkie de Jong admitted.
