Despite the favorable context for the Netherlands to qualify for the round of 16 at this 2026 World Cup, Dutch captain Virgil van Dijk has remained cautious.

He admitted to being particularly impressed by certain teams, especially Argentina.

"The way Argentina started the World Cup shows that they are truly determined to defend their title. Brazil are also a massive team, with a tremendous amount of quality. There are no easy matches. But my main focus remains my own team: we have to concentrate on ourselves and keep improving as the tournament goes on," the Liverpool defender told reporters in the mixed zone.
