The French national team faces Sweden this Tuesday at MetLife Stadium in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
Didier Deschamps has to cope without Thuram, who is sidelined with a calf muscle issue. N'Golo Kanté, struggling with a knee problem, is also doubtful. Rabiot and Saliba are expected to return to the starting eleven, while Digne and Barcola are likely to start on the left flank. On the other side, Graham Potter will be without Hien due to injury.
The probable lineups for both teams:
France: Maignan - Koundé, Upamecano, Saliba, Digne - Tchouaméni, Rabiot - Dembélé, Olise, Barcola - Mbappé.
Sweden: Zetterström - Lagerbielke, Starfelt, Lindelöf - Bernhardsson, Bergvall, Ayari, Gudmundsson - Elanga, Gyökeres, Isak.
