2026 World Cup - Spain: Lamine Yamal gives update on his condition
Speaking to the press, Lamine Yamal insisted he feels great and is ready for the clash between Spain and Saudi Arabia.
After his recent hamstring injury at the end of last season, Lamine Yamal admits he needs some time to regain his rhythm and reach 100% for this 2026 World Cup. The Barcelona winger is therefore unlikely to be available for the full 90 minutes against Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
"At the end of the season, with every injury, you think about the World Cup, and of course about your team, but the World Cup is always on our minds. Luckily, the doctors told me I’d be ready and here I am, happy. Should I start? It’s too early, it’s not necessary, I’m still in the rehabilitation phase, it’s not the right moment to play a full match, but I can play as many minutes as the coach wants," he told RTVE.
