Al Ahly: Latest Injury Updates on El Shenawy and Taher as Players Get Four Days Off
Al Ahly have provided the latest updates on the fitness of Mohamed El Shenawy and Taher Mohamed Taher with the Egyptian club revealing details of their injuries through its official channels.
Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy suffered another setback during Wednesday’s training session.
Medical examinations revealed that the goalkeeper has sustained a second-degree strain to his left adductor muscle. He will now undergo a treatment and rehabilitation programme in the coming period.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly winger Taher Mohamed Taher is dealing with an injury to his left elbow sustained during Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Abu Qir Fertilizers.
Al Ahly Players Given Four Days Off
In a separate development, Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa confirmed that the coaching staff, led by Moroccan head coach Houcine Ammouta, has decided to give the players four days off starting Thursday. The team will resume training after the break as preparations begin for the upcoming fixtures.
The international break is scheduled to run from September 21 to October 6 during which Egyptian Premier League matches will be suspended.
