Al Ahly moves quickly to secure two local signings ahead of the Club World Cup!
The Egyptian giants Al Ahly are ramping up efforts to bolster their squad for the upcoming season, as well as for their much-anticipated participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place this summer in the United States with 32 teams battling it out.
The Cairo powerhouse is moving shrewdly in the domestic market, with two reinforcements now firmly in their sights.
Al Ahly takes action on the local transfer market
The club has begun negotiations to sign Ghazl El Mahalla defender Amr El-Gazzar, as well as Petrojet midfielder Hamed Hamdan, a promising young Palestinian talent. These moves are part of Al Ahly’s strategy to inject fresh, up-and-coming prospects into their ranks.
Walid Khalil, president of Ghazl El Mahalla, has confirmed Al Ahly’s interest in El-Gazzar, noting that other clubs are also in the race. However, he emphasized that the Red Devils’ offer is by far the most serious so far.
Meanwhile, Hamed Hamdan, whose market value is estimated at €250,000, has already agreed to a pre-contract with Al Ahly. The only remaining step is to finalize an official agreement with his current club, Petrojet, to complete the transfer.
On the sporting front, Al Ahly are gearing up to face Pharco on May 28. A draw would be enough for the club to clinch the Egyptian championship for the third consecutive season—and for the 45th time in their illustrious history.
