Al-Ittihad beat Al-Faisaly 3-1 on Friday in the seventh round of the Saudi Pro League. Youssef En-Nesyri scored twice, with George Ilenikhena providing the assist for both goals, while Théo Bongonda pulled one back late in the match.

Youssef En-Nesyri was Al-Faisaly’s main tormentor. The Moroccan striker opened the scoring before half-time before finding the net again in the second half.

On both occasions, George Ilenikhena provided the final pass to En-Nesyri. Their connection helped Al-Ittihad take firm control of the game.

The brace takes En-Nesyri’s tally to four goals after seven rounds. The Moroccan had scored twice in the first six rounds before doubling his total on Friday.

Ilenikhena: two assists and still on four goals

George Ilenikhena did not score this time, but he was directly involved in both of En-Nesyri’s goals. The Nigerian provided two assists and underlined his importance in Al-Ittihad’s attack.

After seven rounds, his tally now stands at four goals and two assists. He keeps his four goals while adding two assists to his statistics.

For En-Nesyri, it was an almost perfect night in front of goal: two chances converted from two deliveries by the young Nigerian.

Bongonda pulls one back

Al-Faisaly had to wait until the closing stages to respond. Théo Bongonda scored his team’s only goal with Al-Ittihad already leading 3-0.

The DR Congo international now has two league goals after seven rounds. His goal did not change the outcome, but it keeps Bongonda on the scoresheet for Al-Faisaly this season.

At the final whistle, the three African players left the game with different tallies: En-Nesyri has four goals, Ilenikhena has four goals and two assists, while Bongonda has two goals. The Moroccan and Nigerian were particularly decisive in this seventh round, combining for two goals.
