Algeria: a new striker knocks on the door of the national team
As Algeria gears up for its next training camp in Italy, a new name could be added to Vladimir Petković's squad list. Striker Nadhir Benbouali, currently in top form with Győri ETO FC, has caught the attention of the national team coach.
Benbouali pushes for a first call-up
Trained at Paradou AC, the 25-year-old is enjoying an impressive season in Hungary. The center-forward boasts strong stats with 14 goals and 3 assists in 31 matches played.
Already included in the coach's extended squad for several months, Benbouali could take the next step during the camp scheduled in Turin. His all-around attacking profile and clinical finishing seem to have particularly impressed Vladimir Petković, potentially putting him ahead of other offensive options like Baghdad Bounedjah in the current pecking order.
