Algeria – AFCON 2025: a first withdrawal looming for the Fennecs

A change may be on the horizon for the Algerian national team roster ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations. According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Himad Abdelli has reportedly been called up to join the Fennecs for the upcoming tournament.

This call-up appears to be linked to a potential withdrawal of Houssem Aouar. According to several consistent sources, the midfielder reportedly left the training camp this morning due to injury, casting serious doubt on his participation in the continental tournament.

So far, no official statement has been issued by the Algerian Football Federation. Until confirmation or denial arrives, the Abdelli option remains a credible scenario.
