Algeria: Vladimir Petkovic finally gets his number one striker back

Good news for the Algerian national football team. After several months on the sidelines, Amine Gouiri made his return to the pitch with Olympique de Marseille during their trip to Toulouse. The Algerian striker has just come out of a lengthy recovery period following a shoulder dislocation suffered last October against Uganda.

This comeback comes at a crucial moment for the squad led by Vladimir Petkovic. The Bosnian coach, who was without his main striker during the last Africa Cup of Nations, should now be able to count on him for the upcoming training camp scheduled for March.

With two friendlies lined up against Guatemala and Uruguay, the head coach wants to see his full squad in action. Gouiri's return, now regarded as the Fennecs' number one striker, is a real sigh of relief as they prepare for the upcoming international fixtures.
