Algerian Ligue 1: Benguit, Boualia, and Boumechra suspended for six matches!

The disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League has made its decision: Abderraouf Benguit (CR Belouizdad), Koceila Boualia (JS Kabylie), and Mohamed-Reda Boumechra (USM Khenchela) are sanctioned with six-match suspensions, including three suspended, along with a fine of 50,000 DA each.

The incidents involving the three players date back to the 23rd day of the Algerian Ligue 1. Following the matches CRB-ESM, USMA-JSK, and USMK-PAC, officials' reports mentioned "obscene gestures" directed towards the crowd or opponents, akin to offensive hand gestures.

Summoned on Wednesday by the CD/LFP, the players tried to justify their actions as clumsy expressions of joy.

The league sends a strong message!

However, the explanations were not enough to avoid a heavy sanction. Benguit and Boualia will thus miss the highly anticipated JSK-CRB clash scheduled for next Saturday.

As for Boumechra, his suspension is a real blow for USM Khenchela, who were counting on the former USM Alger player to boost their attack.

The league thus intends to send a clear message to prevent any future misconduct.
