Anderlecht shows interest in this Algerian international
On loan this season from the Turkish club Basaksehir to KV Mechelen, Ahmed Touba is having a solid campaign. The 27-year-old Algerian defender has played 27 matches across all competitions, scored two goals, and accumulated over 2,300 minutes of play.
His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed by Anderlecht. In an interview with RTBF, the player confirmed the contact:
I won't deny it, I'm on Anderlecht's radar. We've already had talks this winter. We'll see in a few weeks.
However, Ahmed Touba is cautious not to rush. At a pivotal age in his career, he intends to make the right decision:
I'm 27, not very young anymore. I need to make the right choice. But for now, I want to finish the season well.
A former FC Bruges player who has been through the Netherlands and Turkey, Ahmed Touba has experience at the top level. It remains to be seen if the Brussels club will make a move in the next transfer window.
