André Ayew reaches 500 professional club appearances

André Ayew played the 500th match of his professional club career during matchday 33 of Ligue 1, on the pitch of Olympique de Marseille. The venue is steeped in memories for the Ghanaian, who experienced his finest moments in France there.

At 34, the current Le Havre AC striker continues to let his experience do the talking. Against OM, he gave everything he had despite the 3-1 defeat. Of his 500 appearances, 227 have come in Ligue 1, most notably during his memorable stint with Marseille.

He has also played in Ligue 2, England (Swansea, West Ham), Turkey, and even Qatar. André Ayew may no longer have the explosiveness of his twenties, but he has kept the essentials: determination and football intelligence.
