Atalanta Bergamo: Has Odilon Kossounou become a substitute?

Atalanta Bergamo clinched a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo on Saturday, February 28, in Serie A's 27th round. On this occasion, Ivorian international Odilon Kossounou remained on the bench for the seventh consecutive game.

It appears that Odilon Kossounou is no longer among the first choices for Atalanta Bergamo's head coach. Raffaele Palladino has kept the Ivorian defender on the bench for the last seven Serie A matches. After 27 rounds of the season, Kossounou has made 14 appearances, with only 9 starts.

The last time the former Bayer Leverkusen player started a match was on December 13, 2025, when Atalanta beat Cagliari 2-1. The 25-year-old Ivorian was also in the starting lineup for the first leg of the Champions League playoff against Dortmund (2-0), before staying on the bench in the return leg.

Has Odilon Kossounou become just a substitute at Atalanta Bergamo?
