Ballon d’Or 2026: Thomas Tuchel hails Harry Kane

Harry Kane has reached a major milestone in his career. The Bayern Munich striker has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, finishing ahead of Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé in particular. The award has prompted numerous reactions, including that of Thomas Tuchel, his manager with the England national team.

“I have no more words to congratulate you”: Tuchel hails his captain

Thomas Tuchel was keen to highlight the career and performances of Harry Kane. In comments reported by the BBC, he explained that he could no longer find words strong enough to describe the level displayed by the striker:

I have had no more words to praise your performances for a long time, but I am happy to see that you are now officially recognised by the football world.

Beyond the statistics, Tuchel also emphasised Kane’s importance in his leadership role. “We are lucky to have you as our captain,” he stressed, recalling the central role occupied by the goalscorer within the England team.

An exceptional season rewarded

Harry Kane’s figures help convey the scale of his achievement. The striker played 65 matches in all competitions, recording 73 goals and eight assists, while also winning three trophies. The triumph also represents a major event for English football.

Kane has become the first English player to win the Ballon d’Or since Michael Owen in 2001, ending a 25-year wait for the country. Tuchel finally invited his captain to enjoy this moment with his loved ones before returning to his usual routine: scoring goals and winning matches.
