Kaizer Chiefs defender Reeve Frosler has urged his team to bounce back from their CAF Confederation Cup exit with a win against TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 at FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

The Glamour Boys were sent packing in the second preliminary round after falling to a penalty shootout defeat to Zambian outfit Red Arrows following a one-all draw on aggregate.

Chiefs, as a result, have already missed out on two trophies this season, having also been knocked out in the MTN8 quarterfinal by Golden Arrows at the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign.

With the Carling Knockout Cup providing yet another opportunity for silverware, Frosler insists Amakhosi have moved on from the CAF heartbreak, and are looking to turn the corner against the rockets.

“It's disappointing falling out of the CAF competition. The guys did well to try and get back after the first leg in Zambia but it just wasn't meant to be. But now our full focus goes onto the Carling Cup,” said the utility player.

"TS Galaxy have been a tough opponent for us in the last few games. But it's a cup competition and cup games are always different. We'll look to put our best foot forward on Tuesday and try and go all the way in the Carling Cup.

"We have ambitions of wanting to win a trophy and this gives us an opportunity to try and do that.

The 28-year-old former South Africa youth international says the cup tie will gauge Chiefs' readiness for the looming Soweto derby against bitter rivals Orlando Pirates at the calabash on Saturday.

“Obviously, we've got the derby coming up on the weekend as well, but our attention is on TS Galaxy now and we'll use the game as preparation for Saturday,” Frosler added.

Having crashed out in the first round of the League Cup at the hands of Stellenbosch FC last term and AmaZulu FC in the 2023/24 season, it remains to be seen whether Chiefs can advance to the quarterfinals.
