Moroccan star Achraf Bencharki succeeded in making immediate impression during his first appearance with Al Ahly after scoring in the match that ended in 1 - 1 draw between Al Ahly and Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League.

Match Overview

The Cairo derby match was played in the 15th round of the egyptian premier league and witnessed Al Ahly taking the lead in the 72 minute through Bencharki before Zamalek equalized in the 84 minute of the match through Moroccan Mahmoud Bentayg.

Bencharki joined Al Ahly in Jan from Qatari club Al Rayyan and made his debut for the club as substitute in the 60 minute. He needed just 12 minute to make his mark, heading in perfect cross from Slovenian winger Nejc Gradišar to give the red devils the lead.

Bencharki chose not to celebrate out of respect for Zamalek, his former club, for which he played between 2019 and 2022 and won many local and continental titles.
