Bénie Traoré has emerged as one of the key revelations for FC Basel in the Swiss Super League during the 2024-2025 season, thanks to his decisive attacking performances. Arriving from Sheffield Utd last summer, the 21-year-old Ivorian right winger quickly found his feet in a league he was discovering for the first time.

Adapting well to his new environment, he gradually established himself in the Swiss club's attack. Across 31 league appearances this season, Bénie Traoré started 27 times for FC Basel. Talented and clinical in front of goal, he hit double digits with 10 goals and 7 assists in his debut Swiss top-flight campaign.

  • Born on November 30, 2002, in Ouragahio, Ivory Coast, Bénie Adama Traoré began his career with ASEC Mimosas before moving to BK Häcken in Sweden in January 2021.

  • He gained valuable experience in Sweden with Häcken, where he netted 15 goals in 41 matches.

  • In July 2023, he signed with Sheffield United in the Premier League, before being loaned out to FC Nantes in January 2024. Ultimately, he joined FC Basel in July 2024, signing a contract through 2028.

  • During the 2024-2025 season, he played 34 matches for FC Basel, recording 11 goals and 7 assists across all competitions.

  • Bénie Adama Traoré was called up to the Ivory Coast senior national team in September 2024, making his debut for the Elephants against Zambia (2-0) and Chad (2-0) in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He went on to earn three more caps.
