Bertrand Traoré: 10 goals already, a remarkable return to Ajax Amsterdam

After spending several years in various leagues, Bertrand Traoré is making a remarkable return to Ajax Amsterdam. The 29-year-old Burkinabé winger has already scored 10 goals across all competitions with the leader of the Dutch Eredivisie.

A rich journey before returning to Amsterdam

It's a true homecoming for Bertrand Traoré, who had already worn Ajax's colors during a loan spell in 2016-2017. Trained at AJ Auxerre and then at Chelsea, the native of Bobo-Dioulasso joined Chelsea's first team in 2013. Loaned successively to Vitesse Arnhem and then to Ajax Amsterdam, he made his mark with his offensive performances. At the time, he scored 9 goals in 24 matches, leaving a good impression on the fans. He also ended the season as a Europa League finalist in 2017 and Dutch Vice-champion in 2017.

After stints in Ligue 1, the Premier League, the Turkish Super Lig, and La Liga, he returned to Ajax in July 2024, signing a two-year deal.
