Boniface sets the record straight: "I'm staying at Leverkusen"!
Nigerian international Victor Boniface has put an end to the rumors surrounding his future, confirming his decision to remain at Bayer Leverkusen for the upcoming season.
Boniface confirms his decision: he’s staying at Leverkusen
In an interview with the German daily Bild, the striker declared with confidence: "I'm certain I'm staying here. I still have three years left on my contract, and I want to continue my journey with the team to win even more titles."
Boniface’s name had been linked to Al-Nassr during the last winter transfer window, especially since he had already undergone a medical with the club. However, the transfer fell through at the last minute.
At 24, Boniface played 27 matches last season under Xabi Alonso, scoring 11 goals and providing 2 assists. He was a key contributor to the team’s success with his consistent performances.
Tied to Leverkusen until June 2028, the Nigerian striker is a cornerstone of the squad, having played a major role in the club’s historic treble two seasons ago (Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and German Super Cup).
