After nearly six decades, a beloved tradition is coming to an end. FIFA has decided to end its long‑standing partnership with Panini, the legendary company behind the iconic limited‑edition World Cup sticker albums. The collaboration, which first began ahead of the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, will officially conclude after the 2030 tournament.

From 2031 onwards, production will be taken over by Topps/Fanatics, marking the end of an era that has defined football memorabilia for generations of fans.

Many collectors have reacted with disappointment, viewing FIFA’s decision as a betrayal of the tournament’s rich heritage. For millions, peeling open a fresh packet of Panini stickers was as much a part of the World Cup experience as the matches themselves. While the tradition of sticker albums will continue, the name and nostalgia tied to Panini will fade into history. The final chapter of this partnership will be written in 2030.
