Clasico: Pau Cubarsi wary of Kylian Mbappé

Three months after the 2026 World Cup semi-final between Spain and France (2-0), Pau Cubarsi will once again come up against Kylian Mbappé on Sunday evening.

This will notably take place in the Clasico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The 2026 World Cup winner is naturally wary of a French forward "who makes the difference".

“There is no secret to facing Mbappé”

In an interview with DAZN and RMC Sport, Pau Cubarsi clearly knows what awaits him.

"The Clasico is a match that is lived intensely, with nerves and tension. It is one of the biggest matches in the world. (...) Mbappé? There is no secret to facing him. Mbappé is a great player, one of the best in the world. You always have to be vigilant and stay focused for the full 90 minutes, because he is a player who makes the difference and we know that he can hurt us a lot. We have to control him to limit his influence," he said.
