Bundesliga: Bayern and Dortmund slowed down

The 26th matchday of the Bundesliga was marked by new setbacks for the two German giants. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund failed to secure victories this Saturday, extending their periods of uncertainty.
Bayern held to a draw by Union Berlin
Traveling to Union Berlin, Bayern hoped to bounce back after their unexpected defeat to Bochum. Despite Leroy Sané opening the score in the 75th minute, the Bavarians conceded an equalizer late in the match (83rd) with a goal by Hollerbach. A frustrating 1-1 draw that could allow Bayer Leverkusen to close the gap to six points if they win against Stuttgart this Sunday.
Dortmund sinks further
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund continues its troubled season. Currently outside the top 10, the Black and Yellows fell to RB Leipzig (2-0). Xavi Simons opened the scoring in the 17th minute, before Loïs Openda sealed the victory in the 48th. This defeat leaves Dortmund in 11th position with 36 points, while Leipzig solidifies its 5th place (42 points).
