Algeria travel to Burundi aiming to confirm their opening victory, while the Swallows will look to respond after their defeat.

Algeria continue their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a trip to Bujumbura to face Burundi on Tuesday, 29 September at Intwari Stadium. Having beaten Zambia 3-1 in their opening match, Brahim Hemdani’s men sit top of Group I thanks to a better goal difference than Togo.

Burundi, meanwhile, began their campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Togo in Lomé. For this second fixture, Patrick Sangwa could field the same starting XI as the one that lined up against the Sparrowhawks. Group I consists of Algeria, Togo, Zambia and Burundi, with two qualifying spots available.

The Greens will approach this fixture with a few possible changes after their opening outing. The squad was notably without Rayan Aït-Nouri, who was released from the camp, and Amine Gouiri, who was ruled out. Anis Hadj Moussa will also be monitored after reporting a hamstring issue in training. After the first round, Algeria sit alone at the top of the group thanks to their goal difference.
