Algeria take on Burundi in Bujumbura aiming to secure a second consecutive victory and strengthen their position at the top of Group I.

Algeria continue their campaign in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers this Tuesday, September 29. Four days after their 3-1 victory over Zambia in Tizi Ouzou, Brahim Hemdani’s side travel to Bujumbura’s Intwari Stadium to face Burundi, who lost 1-0 to Togo on the opening matchday.

Just moments before kick-off, the two coaches officially announced their starting XIs for this second Group I matchday.

Burundi follow with 0 points and a goal difference of -1, ahead of Zambia, who are also pointless but sit fourth with a goal difference of -2.

A win in Bujumbura would therefore allow the Greens to make it six points from six before the two clashes with Togo scheduled during the next international window. For Burundi, a positive result is already important to avoid falling behind after just two matchdays.
