Yassine Bounou the clear favorite
Having won the award in 2023 and 2025, Yassine Bounou is one of the leading contenders to retain his title. The Moroccan goalkeeper, who plays for Al Hilal, has extensive experience at the highest level and continues to stand out for his consistency, both at club level and with the Atlas Lions.
After the Moroccan, Ronwen Williams, goalkeeper for Mamelodi Sundowns and captain of South Africa, is also among the serious contenders. His consistent performances for his club and Bafana Bafana strengthen his case.
Cape Verde can also count on Vozinha, whose performances at the 2026 World Cup helped enhance his reputation.
