This Wednesday, April 2, Stellenbosch FC held their ground against the Egyptian giant Zamalek SC (0-0) at home in a tightly contested first leg of the CAF Cup quarter-finals. All the suspense remains for the return leg between the two adversaries.

This afternoon, Stellenbosch FC hosted Egypt's Zamalek SC at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch for the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals. In their maiden CAF Cup campaign, the South African club proved they were not just there to make up the numbers. Facing a dominant Zamalek, twice winners of the competition (2019, 2024), Devin Titus and his teammates stood firm in their boots.

The South Africans, although less in control of the ball, exploited quick counters to unsettle the opposing defense. Despite some opportunities on both sides, neither team managed to find the back of the net during the 90 minutes of regulation time.
