CAN U17: Morocco vs Côte d'Ivoire, an explosive semi-final in prospect

The curtain rises this Tuesday, April 15, at 7 PM GMT, on a highly anticipated semi-final of the 2025 CAN U17 between Morocco and Côte d'Ivoire, at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia.

Two attack-minded teams face off: 11 goals scored by the Moroccans, 10 by the Ivorians, in a showdown that promises to be as intense as it is unpredictable in the land of the Atlas Lions.

Two teams with impressive trajectories

Finalists in 2023, Morocco aims for glory at home. Led by their coach Nabil Baha, the Atlas Lion Cubs can rely on brilliant individuals, starting with Ziyad Baha, hero of the quarter-finals and son of the coach.

Midfielder Abdellah Ouazane, a true metronome, and the dazzling winger Ilies Belmokhtar round out a well-oiled squad.

On the other hand, Côte d'Ivoire returns to the final four for the first time since their triumph in 2013.

The Baby Elephants impress with their physical impact and collective rigor. Forward Alynho Haïdara, though silent against Senegal (0-0, 5-3 on penalties), remains a constant threat to the Moroccan defense.

A precedent in favor of the Ivorians

While the stakes change everything, the last encounter between the two teams, a friendly on September 9, ended in an Ivorian victory (2-0).

A fresh memory that could weigh on minds as they approach this decisive semi-final.
