CAN U17: the schedule for Monday, March 31

The second round of the Africa U17 Cup of Nations, CAN U17, takes place this Monday, following a spectacular start with the Morocco's big win against Uganda (5-0). Here are the matches on the schedule.

Tanzania vs Zambia

Tanzania faces Zambia at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammédia, Morocco. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 PM local time (GMT), which is 4 PM in France and Zambia, and 5 PM in Tanzania.

With Morocco as the strong favorite in Group A, Tanzania and Zambia are battling for a precious spot in the quarter-finals. For these two teams, who have never advanced past the first round of the CAN U17, a victory would be a significant step towards their goal.

Burkina Faso vs Cameroon

The Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca will host a clash between Burkina Faso and Cameroon at 5 PM local time (GMT). This time also applies to Burkina Faso, while it will be 6 PM in Cameroon and 7 PM in France.

Third in the previous edition, Burkina Faso dreams of climbing even higher this time.

On the other hand, Cameroon arrives with clear ambitions after an impressive qualifying campaign, scoring 22 goals in just 3 matches. It's a great opportunity for the Indomitable Lions to make up for their early exit as defending champions two years ago.

South Africa vs Egypt

The day will conclude with the match between South Africa and Egypt, also at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium. The match will kick off at 8 PM GMT, which is 10 PM in South Africa, Egypt, and France.

South Africa, a quarter-finalist in 2023, aims for another qualification to the knockout stage.

Meanwhile, Egypt is making a grand return after six editions of absence. Crowned champions in 1997 and fourth in 2003, the young Pharaohs will try to establish themselves as a serious contender.

Here is the complete schedule for Monday, March 31:

  • 2:00 PM GMT: Tanzania - Zambia
  • 5:00 PM GMT:Burkina Faso - Cameroon
  • 8:00 PM GMT:South Africa - Egypt
