CAN U20 2025: The stadiums selected for the tournament
The 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations will take place in Egypt from April 27 to May 18. This 24th edition of the tournament brings together 13 teams divided into three different groups across four stadiums located in Cairo, Ismailia, and Suez.
Cairo, at the heart of the tournament
The Cairo International Stadium will host the opening match on April 27 between Egypt and Zambia at 20:00 GMT. Located in Nasr City, the Cairo International Stadium is the largest of the selected venues, with an estimated capacity of about 74,100 seats. Inaugurated in 1960, it has been the stage for many major events, including matches of the Egyptian national team and clubs Al Ahly SC and Zamalek SC.
A few kilometers away, the 30 June Stadium, another key infrastructure in the capital (30,000 seats), will serve as the stage for Group B clashes, including the Nigeria vs Tunisia showdown on May 1, 2025.
Ismailia: the Suez Canal Stadium
Ismailia, a city located on the banks of the Suez Canal, will host matches at the Suez Canal Stadium. With a capacity of 22,000 seats, this stadium, home to the Olympic El Qanah club, will host Group A matches, including Sierra Leone vs South Africa on the first day.
Suez: the New Suez Stadium
The city of Suez will provide the New Suez Stadium, which can accommodate 22,000 to 27,000 spectators. This stadium will host Group C matches, including the Senegal vs Central African Republic and DR Congo vs Ghana confrontations on the first day.
