In a press conference, Mohamed Ouahbi tackled the main talking points surrounding the Atlas Lions head-on, just before a decisive clash against Haiti.

On the eve of this crucial match against Haiti, Mohamed Ouahbi struck a balanced tone—walking the line between ambition and caution. With four points on the board, Morocco is in a solid position to qualify, but the Atlas Lions' head coach refuses to look too far ahead.

One goal: win and finish first

When asked about possible squad rotation, the Moroccan tactician was crystal clear:

"Our goal is to win this match. We have just one objective, and we’ll field the best possible team."

Despite a favorable situation, he reminded everyone that "qualification is not secured yet."

The head coach didn’t hide his ambition to finish above Brazil:

"If you ask me what I prefer, it’s to top the group, ahead of Brazil."

However, he had high praise for the Seleção, predicting they "will go very far in the competition."

Patience and trust within the squad

Addressing the lack of attacking efficiency, Ouahbi struck a reassuring note.

"We’re creating chances, even if we still need to be more clinical, but that doesn’t worry us. We’re keeping our composure and we’ll improve with hard work," he explained.

The coach also emphasized the depth of his squad, especially regarding the players who haven’t seen much action yet.

"They’re 100% committed and know they’ll be up to the challenge," he assured.

Bounou fit, Munir sets the example

Finally, Mohamed Ouahbi put an end to the rumors surrounding Yassine Bounou:

"Bounou is doing well. The rumors about an injury are false. I’m being honest. He’s fine."

Present at the press conference, Munir Mohamedi, for his part, praised the squad’s mentality:

"We’re united and we have a strong response. We know what we have to do and we’re fully focused on this World Cup. We want to make all Moroccans proud."
